The easiest way to use Exchange e-mail on university workstations is to use Microsoft Office Outlook e-mail client. You can get to your mailbox simply by starting the Outlook program. Use Outlook email client on workstation you use on daily basis.On workstations you use occasionally please use email in browser instead.
Enabling email
- Log in at OMA - Personal information management at https://account.jyu.fi
- Go to Services page and select Staff relationship (or Visitor if you do not have staff relationship) tab and activate Microsoft Office 365 cloud services and [Save]
- Then go to User account and email page and confirm your email address for Exchange.
- When you are selecting your address first time, you can adjust the initial(s) between your first name and last name. After confirming you can not change these.
- activate your email for staff (or visitor) relationship by clicking [Save] from the bottom of the page.
Using email
- Your email inbox will be created to Microsoft cloud within 30 minutes of activation, but it takes a maximum of two hours before emails that are sent outside of university to reach your new inbox.
- You can use Exchange e-mail with a web browser at https://outlook.office.com/mail/ , Use this form of your userid for logging in: userid@jyu.fi.
- Remember: you need to enable M365 services through OMA to use the email.
