Instructions for JY Students Taking an exam at Another University
Taking an exam at another university means that you take an exam for a course from your own university in an EXAM exam room at another university. Before booking an exam, check the opening hours of the host university’s exam rooms, access requirements, and other university-specific guidelines. You can find the guidelines for universities participating in the exam visit program on the EXAM Consortium’s website: https://e-exam.fi/exam-tenttivierailu/
Please also note that exam computers at different universities are equipped with a wide variety of software resources; therefore, if you need a specific application or device to take the exam, you should verify whether this is possible at the university in question.
Here’s how to book an EXAM exam slot as a University of Jyväskylä student at another institution’s EXAM facility:
- To take an exam in EXAM, you must first have an approved registration for the Sisu version of the exam.
- Once your Sisu registration is complete, log in to JY’s EXAM at exam.app.jyu.fi
- On the EXAM dashboard, you’ll see the exams for the sessions you’ve registered for in Sisu. Click the Book an exam time button displayed in the exam details.
- On the booking calendar page, select the link “Select room for exam visit” to open the university menu.
- From the menu, select the university for which you want to book an exam time in EXAM.
- Select the exam room to open the booking calendar. Choose a suitable time and confirm your booking. You will receive an email confirmation of your booking.
- Make sure you check the other university's info and instructions for exam visit before you book the time.
- When you go to take your exam, you log in to the other university's EXAM with your JYU user id and password.
NOTE! Be sure to cancel your booking if, for any reason, you are unable to take the exam at the scheduled time.
