JYU has acquired licenses for the easy-to-use Flinga application. Staff and students can use Flinga with university accounts without usage restrictions. 
 

What is Flinga?  

Flinga platform is as a tool for collaborative knowledge construction. Flinga allows students to participate either individually or simultaneously to conversations or questions asked by the teacher. With Flinga it is possible to collect students’ comments, questions and answers quickly and easily for all to see. The entire classroom can simultaneously participate in collaborative working in an easy way.

How to use Flinga?

If you create Flinga-wall or -whiteboard:  (note: participants do not need to sign in)

• Sign in: jyu.flinga.fi
  
  • A tip: you can change the language Suomeksi / In English at the bottom of the main page
    
    
• If you want to collect questions, ideas, comments, answers etc. and afterwards it is possible to vote for them: choose Flinga-wall and create session
• If you want more: construct collaborative knowledge, collect and arrange ideas, work with mindmaps: choose Flinga-whiteboard and click create session
  
  
• You can edit settings: click the "three lines" -button on the left corner and change:
  
  
  
  • what colours and objects users can choose (default: all colours, images, links)
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
• Session rules:
  
  • Participants can edit everything
  • Participants can edit own and other partisicipants objects
  • Particisipant can edit only own objects
  • Participants cannot control anything on the session (Flinga is ready and you do not want anymore changes!) 
    
    
    

 

You can share Flinga to participants in three ways:

1) Share the link (a tip: in Moodle or Zoom-chat) or
2) Show QR-code or
3) Tell the Access code: participant will go to edu.flinga.fi  -page and  Join a session
