Course grades and assessment items can be found on the Moodle course pages in the Grades tab. The Grades view is also often referred to as an Gradebook.
The teacher's default grade view for the course is the Grader report, which lists the students and activities. The view in the Student Gradebook is the User report view. Once the activities have been graded, the table directly shows the scores, grades or pass / fail rating for each activity. The view of the gradebook can be changed from the drop-down menu at the top left of the page.
You can scroll horizontally or vertically to a large table, which will lock the names of students or assignments in column 1. Each activity has a link directly to the activity.
The gradebook may include:
In Moodle, course grades consist of course assignments, ie activities, but the teacher can add other assessment items. It is a good idea to think carefully about the settings for evaluating the course assessment before starting the course. Once the course has started and the assignments have been returned, it will no longer be possible to change the assessment of the activities.
For more detailed instructions on setting up activity evaluation, see Grading and evaluation in Moodle activities
The gradebook settings can be modified by switching from the top left of the gradebook to the Gradebook setup in the Grader report.
You can edit the settings for existing assessment items by clicking Edit in that row, including the final grade for the entire course.
The definitions of the final grade of the course have been completed for those course areas that have been ordered through the Sisu. However, if you want to change the definition of the final grade for the course, click Edit next to the course name in the Gradebook setup and then Edit settings.
In the Edit category view that opens, you can configure your final grade settings. The most importants are:
From the top of the Gradebook setup page, you can add grade items and categories via the Add grade item and Add category buttons.
For example, you can add a new grade item, "Conversation with a teacher," and select an assessment scale of 0-5 (fields that are grayed out do not need to be specified). By selecting Show more... you can define, for example an acceptance limit of 1 (0 = hylätty, 1-5 completed).
A condition can be set for the course when the course is marked as completed. To set the conditions, select More from the tabs below the course name and then the Course completion.
The Course completion tab has conditions under which the course can be marked as completed. For example, by selecting Condition: Course grade and select setting to Enable and setting 1 to Required course grade, you can specify that all students who have received a grade of 1 or higher in the course have completed the course.
If you specify more than one condition, under General, select whether all conditions are met or only one of the set conditions. The example image states that the student must receive at least a grade of 1.
Course reports can be found on the Reports tab under the course name. After adding the conditions, the report shows the Course completion via the drop-down menu in the upper left corner, where you can check which course participants have completed the course.
