How Do I Join mailing list?

(You can change the language of the sign-in page if you wish.)
You can join the mailing lists on the listinfo page. Select the desired email list and fill in the "Your email address" text box in the "Your email address" text box in the "Subscribing to ..." or "Subscribe to ..." box and click Subscribe. (Mailman will generate a password if you leave the password boxes blank.)

Mailman will send a confirmation request via email to the address you provided. You can only reply to it with a blank reply message (reply). The Subject field contains the required confirmation code. An alternative confirmation method is at the web address provided in the confirmation request.

The list administrator can then still reject or approve the subscription. Joining becomes (usually) a welcome message sent by Mailman, which contains brief instructions and your password for the listing, as well as the address of your web page (the so-called option page) associated with the listing.

An alternative way to subscribe is by e-mail to listannimi-join@lists.jyu.fi or listannimi-subscribe@lists.jyu.fi, where listlist is the name of the list. The message does not require any content or subject text. Confirmation queries follow as above.

How do I leave or change my email address for a mailing list?

Mailman sends a reminder every month with instructions. The reminder includes the web address and password of your stock option page. (You can also access your options page through the listinfo page using the "Unsubscribe or Edit Options" function.) After logging in to your options page, press the Unsubscribe button (note the confirmation button first). If you have forgotten your password, you can receive it in the email by pressing the Remind or "Email My Password To Me" button.

An alternative (easier) way is to send an e-mail to listannimi-leave@lists.jyu.fi or listannimi-unsubscribe@lists.jyu.fi. Mailman will ask for confirmation by email in the same way as for joining the list. Note that when you select this option, the From address of your email must be exactly the same as the address you want to unsubscribe from.
