The supervision of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)-based exams is organized/managed by the examiner. The general examination guidelines of the university/faculty should also be taken into account during the supervision of BYOD-based exams.
A pre-supervised exam can be arranged in the EXAM environment, eliminating the need for examiner supervision.
Considerations for the supervision of personal computer-based exams:
Open BYOD-based exam:
- The examiner determines the tools and applications that examinees can use during the exam.
- The examiner monitors the students' exam-taking and the use of applications through personal observation.
- The examiner monitors submissions via the Reservations view in EXAM.
Restricted BYOD-based exam:
- The examiner determines the tools that students are allowed to use as support during the exam, such as pen and paper or other aids like calculators or reference materials.
- The computer does not have access to the internet or other computer files or applications, so supervision of the computer is not necessary in this regard, because of SEB (Safe Exam Browser).
- The examiner monitors submissions via the Reservations view in EXAM.
