Instructions for Visiting Students Taking Exams

Exam visit refers to taking an exam for your own university course in another university's EXAM exam space. Before making a reservation for the exam, check the opening hours of the target university's exam spaces, access rights, and other university-specific instructions.

Consider the following when coming for an exam visit to the Jyväskylä University EXAM space:

  1. Exam registration and booking always take place using your own university credentials in your university's EXAM system.

  2. In JY, there are two exam visit spaces: Agora at the Mattilanniemi campus in room AgC221 and at the Seminaarinmäki campus in the Lähde Library in room T131. The map service at navi.jyu.fi helps you find your way.

  3. Internet access is restricted on Jyväskylä University exam computers except for EXAM, and during the exam, only the following programs are available: Windows Calculator, MS Excel and Word (without spell check), Notepad, Adobe Reader, OneNote, Paint, 7Zip, and UMLet. If you require other programs for answering the exam, you cannot take the exam in the Jyväskylä University exam space. There is no scratch paper available in the exam room for drafting answers.

  4. Students can request reasonable accommodations for the exam from their home university. Arrangements are agreed on a case-by-case basis between the home and host universities.

  5. You do not need an access card or similar for the exam room; the electric lock of the exam room door opens every hour on the hour at Agora and Lähde spaces and remains open for 25 minutes. Therefore, make sure you arrive on time, or else you won't be able to enter the exam room. You don't need separate credentials to log in to the exam computer, and you log in to EXAM by selecting your own university from the HAKA menu and entering its credentials.

  6. The exam room is under real-time and recorded camera surveillance. By booking an exam time in the Jyväskylä University exam room, you agree to JY's electronic exam rules and surveillance practices.

  7. You are not allowed to bring anything into the exam room except for a photo ID, any necessary medication, and a label-less, transparent water bottle. All other items must be left in lockable storage lockers. At Lähde, the lockers are located in the corridor outside the exam room, and at Agora, on the 1st floor. The lockers operate electronically with a chip card (student card, bank card, etc.) or a separate "tag" which you can get from the information desk at Agora or Lähde.

  8. Please only come for the exam when you are healthy. Masks, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes for surface cleaning are available in both exam rooms.

  9. At Agora parking area, eParking parking application is in use, and at Seminaarinmäki, eParking parking application is also available.
