How to edit members and settings of maillists.jyu.fi mailing list that is based on automatic group?


 

Maillists.jyu.fi mailing lists that are based on automatic groups are managed on the OMA- service at https://account.jyu.fi. Email lists are resources attached to eWorkspaces and each email list has its own eWorkspaces with email attached as a resource.

To manage your email list, click on the "Services"- button in the OMA- service and select Automatic Groups. NOTE! If you do not see any Automatic groups in OMA- service, you do not have administrative rights to any Automatic groups.

Select which Automatic group you want to edit from opening list view. For more information on the Automatic group, click on the (i) button on the right-hand side of the row.

The page that opens on screen contains basic information about the Automatic group.You can see the members of the Automatic group by clicking on the 'Members' button.

After viewing the members, go to the Automatic group's Basic Information tab. The e-mail list is attached as a resource to the automatic group and the e-mail list settings can be found on the 'Basic information' tab. By clicking on the "E-mail list" link in the 'Active resources' section. If necessary, you can delete the automatic group's e-mail list by placing a checkmark in the 'Delete' section and saving the settings.

You can change the settings of the email list on the basic info tab of the email list. Check that the description and address are correct on the list. The e-mail list can have several senders and these can be added by clicking the "Senders and administrators" button. NOTE! Only the administrator receives the error messages sent to the list. This person is determined when the list is created. The administrator can be changed later. By checking the box 'viestinta@jyu.fi', the university's department of communication can send mail to the list. By placing a check mark in the 'Address book' section, the address of the e-mail list will be visible to all users in the Outlook address book.

The senders of the e-mail list can be modified on the Senders and administrators page. If a member of the list does not have the right to send, he cannot send an email to the list. Senders are added by clicking the 'Add Senders' button.

In the search view, search for the desired user and place a check mark in the 'Sender' section. Then click the 'Add' button. More than one person can be applied for and added to the email list at a time. Finally, the changes are saved by clicking the 'Save' button. In the example image, the sending right of the email list is added to the user so that he can send mail to the list.

NOTE! Changes to list members and rights are updated with a delay if you try to use the list with your email. This delay is a maximum of one hour.
