Zoom-meeting can be saved for later viewing as an MP4-file. By default Zoom places your saved meetings into the Documents folder under the Zoom folder in your PC. On university computers this folder is located on a network disk, meaning the files are not bound to one specific computer but rather are visible on all university computers you log into.
Note! The footage to be saved onto the video are as follows: web cam feed, screen sharing, whiteboard as well as microphone feed - other content on your screen will not be recorded.
To start recording, click on the "Record" -button on the task bar at the bottom of your screen. While recording, you may pause or stop it as shown in the picture below. Highlighted in the picture is also the "End Meeting" -button, which will end the meeting and gives you the option to convert the recorded file into MP4 -video format.
After ending your meeting, a new window will appear on your screen displaying the progress for the conversion process. The conversion into MP-format is necessary for sharing and regular video players to be able to read it. It's advised to let the conversion run through right after the meeting ends, meaning you should not log out or turn your computer off before this window disappears.
Once ready, the file can be published for other to see for example on the Moniviestin (https://moniviestin.jyu.fi) video service.
