What is EXAM?

EXAM is an electronic exam that students complete independently in the university's EXAM room at a time of their choosing.

The EXAM exam room is under recorded camera surveillance. Exams should not rely solely on the EXAM system due to accessibility reasons. See more about the accessibility of EXAM.

The purpose of EXAM is to support more flexible exam scheduling for students, and it is part of the university's broader strategic goal to support more flexible study methods.

You can watch the introduction to the EXAM system-video via the link.

How does EXAM work?

1. The teacher adds the exam's basic information and questions to the EXAM system.
2. The student registers for the implementation related to the exam in Sisu and then for the exam in the EXAM system.
3. The student receives an automatic confirmation email upon registration, detailing the reservation information.
(Teachers receive a weekly summary email automatically, containing information such as the students registered for the exam and exams awaiting assessment.)
4. The student leaves their extra belongings in a locked cabinet next to the EXAM exam room and completes the exam in the EXAM exam room.
5. The teacher is notified of the completed exam via email.
6. The teacher reviews and grades the exam.
7. The student is informed of the completed assessment via email. The student logs into the EXAM system to view their grade and any written feedback.
- The teacher has 2 weeks to review the exam. Exams taken in the summer (June 1 - August 31) may have a review period extended by two weeks, depending on the faculty's decision.

Benefits for students:
- Better ability to pace their studies
- Flexibility to choose an exam time that suits them best
- Better availability of course books
- A quieter exam environment
- The ability to use a computer to complete the exam
