We offer two options for independent Turnitin similarity checks for postgraduate students, researchers or other staff. The Turnitin report can be generated using either the Turnitin Draft Coach or a dedicated Moodle course area.
Turnitin Draft Coach
Graduate students, post graduate students, researchers or other staff members can use the Turnitin Draft Coach in M365 Word in the browser to check their documents on their own. A single file can be checked for similarity three times. The similarity report remains in Draft Coach until a new similarity report is created. The file is not stored in the Turnitin database but only compared to databases.
Moodle course
You can also use a common JYU Moodle course area: https://moodle.jyu.fi/course/view.php?id=32166 In this course area, you can independently submit your document to Turnitin. You can do a self registration when you have a JYU account by clicking Enrol me.
- Your submission is not saved in the Turnitin repository.
- Only you can read the report
- Note that your supervisor won't see this Turnintin report.
- For your submission open the assignment Submit your file to Turnitin and select Add submission
- You can add file via paper icon browsing or by dragging the file to that submission area
- Select Save changes
