You can upload data classified as Open, Internal, or Confidential to the DeepL service. It is important to note that data belonging to special categories of personal data (classified as Secret) may not be uploaded to the service. For more information, see the class descriptions and the confidentiality guidelines application table. For example, an unpublished research article may be entered into the service if the article or part of it does not belong to the Secret category.

If you have a JY DeepL user license, you can use the service either in a web browser or as a software add-on (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Once you have been granted access, you will automatically be given the option to activate the Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook add-ons, which connect the service to the software.
 

Using DeepL with a browser

Open the following page in a browser: https://www.deepl.com/

Click "Log in" for logging in.

 

Select "Continue with SSO" for signing in

 

Fill in jyu-fi as Company domain and click Continue

 

If you are already signed in to O365 services, you will be signed in automatically, if you need to do it, use <username>@jyu.fi as your username and your JY account password, and confirm it with your MS authenticator app. After logging in you can use DeepL via browser.

Configuring DeepL add-in for MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)

Search "Add-ins" from the home view of Word, PowerPoint or Outlook

 

Click "More Add-ins"

 

Select "ADMIN MANAGED"

 

Next you need to select "DeepL for Word (or PowerPoint or Outlook)", 1. Click "Add" and 2. close view by clicking "Close"

 

Now DeepL can bee seen as an icon on the bar on top of the screen. To open it, click the icon.

 

You should now see the add-in on the right edge of the application, click "Log in" to start

In the next view select "Continue with SSO"

 

Enter jyu-fi to the Company SSO domain field, completed product should look like this:

jyu-fi.sso.deepl.com

 

Click "Continue".
