How to connect my smartphone to a wireless network. 

 

Android (Samsung)

1. Choose "Settings"

Unlock the screen and swipe up. Tap "Settings" icon. 

 

2. Choose "Connections"

3. Tap the first row, the one with word "Wi-Fi"

4. Choose the wireless network you wish to join to 

5. Please type in network password and information required 

6. Tap "Connect"

 

JYU staff wireless network - jyu-staff: 

1. Type in your username in its basic form

2. Type in JYU password

3. CA-certificate: use system certificates and type in domain/certificate server address: radwl.cc.jyu.fi 

- If your phone asks
+ EAP protocol, choose PEAP
+ 2nd phase protocol, choose MSCHAPv2
+ anonymous identity, leave field empty
+ Online Certificate Status: Request Status

Due to dozens of Android manufacturers and hundreds of different versions of Android OS, connecting JYU campus wireless may contain setting 2 - 8+ different attributes, and their names may vary wildly between different companies and different translations.

4. Tap "Connect"

 

 

iOS (iPhone)

1. Choose "Settings"

2. Choose "Wi-Fi"

3. From a list, choose the network you wish to join to 

4. Type in network password

5. on upper right corner of the display, tap: "Join"

 

Joining to JYU staff wireless network - jyu-staff: 

1. Type in username in its basic form

2. Type in JYU password

3. On a upper right corner of the display tap: "Join"

4. System certificat should be trusted, on upper right corner of the display tap: "Trust"
