Enrolment key
The courses ordered from Sisu course key is not needed. Only those students who has registered to the course in Sisu can enter the course space.
In other than courses self enrolment and using enrolment key is a good way of enrolling the students to the course. Enrolment key is like a password to the course space. If teacher doesn't use enrolment key anyone can join the course. Student can search the right course for example by name or course code, or teacher can give direct link to the course space. When student clicks the name of the course, the self enrolment window opens and she/he can enter the enrolment key and clicking Enrol me makes her/him as a participant of the course.
If you need an enrolment key, please check first the enrolment methods in your course Participants > menu on the left side choose Enrolment methods. Eye icon shows which enrolment methods are in use. If Self enrolment (Student) is not in use click the eye icon. If there is no Self enrolment (Student) added to the list you can add it Add method > Choose > Self Enrolment.
Teacher can add the enrolment key to the course in end of the Self Enrolment line cogwheel Settings or while adding the enrolment method.
Later on you can check the given enrolment key from the same place Participants > Enrolment methods > Self enrolment settings (cogwheel). Eye icon shows the course key. You can also change the enrolment key during the course, if it is somehow necessary.
Additional settings
You can add additional settings like deadline to the enrolment key. Settings can be found under Participants > Enrolment methods. In the end of the Self enrolment line cogwheel you can enter the settings.
Can can make settings like end date or different roles (teachers and students) can have different enrolment key. Remember to save settings.
Group key
Teacher can set also a group key. For example the same course space is for different languages like "Finnish", "German" and "French". When student makes the self enrolment with the enrolment key to "German" course she/he also will be enrolled to the group of the German language students. Teacher have to create the groups and set the different enrolment keys to the groups.
Creating groups and can be found under Participants and from the drop down menu Groups. Clicking Edit groups settings you can set for example the group keys.
