How to reset a smartphone

Before passing the mobile phone on, a factory reset should be performed by its current user.

This is because only the user of the device knows its screen protection code and, for example, after the user leaves the service of the University of Jyväskylä, it is impossible to guess the protection code.

This way we can ensure that the smartphone can be used again.

 

1. Android (Samsung)

Settings -> About Phone -> Reset -> "Factory data reset"

2. iPhone/iOS (also iPad)

Settings -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> "Erase All Content and Settings"
