Finding the directory path on a U disk using the password service

The easiest way to find out the path to the home directory associated with your username is to log in to the User Management System (OMA- service) at https://account.jyu.fi/

You can see the home directory path under the "Username and Email"- tab:

Check the directory path in "Home directory location".

Public directory visible to the network (W: on Windows workstations)

There is no need to find out the physical path of the W disk as it is always a format:

smb://karahka2.cc.jyu.fi/username (the smb: start is required for the Finder's Connect to Server command)

In the Macintosh Finder, under Connect to server in the Go to drop-down menu... you have to put smb: at the beginning of the file path, and the backslashes "\" in the path name have to be changed to slashes "/" on the Mac.
