How do I unlock an application in Microsoft Authenticator?

Microsoft Authenticator asks you to unlock the application when accepting multi-factor authentication, by default. Depending on the settings on the user's phone, the lock is removed using a security code, fingerprint, facial recognition or screen pattern.

It is possible to disable the lock request and this will speed up the authentication process.

This will be done as follows:

Open the Authenticator app and tap the menu in the top right corner of the app (three dots) and select settings:

NOTE! On Apple iPhone, the menu is located in the top left corner.

In Settings, under "App lock", drag the slider to the left to unlock the app.

After this, Authenticator will no longer ask to unlock the application when accepting multi-factor authentication.
