Instructions on how to install Outlook Client on your personal Windows computer. This guide is aimed at students. Staff can get Outlook Client installed on their Windows from the Software Center.

Using email with Outlook requires an MFA. Instructions on how to enable MFA:
Installing Outlook Client:
1. You can install Outlook Client as part of your Microsoft 365 package. Instructions:

2. Open the Outlook application. Log in with the University of Jyväskylä's Microsoft account which is username@jyu.fi + the University password you use when logging in to e.g. Moodle. If you already have Microsoft applications on your computer, the program may detect the account and prompt you to log in with that account. Remember to accept the Authenticator request from your phone.
3. Once you are signed in, you will be asked if you want to sign in to other Microsoft applications on your computer with that Microsoft account, including Microsoft Store, Word, Excel. It is recommended to select "No, log in only to this application".
4. The Outlook application informs you that "Account successfully added". At the bottom of the text you will see the University of Jyväskylä's Microsoft account. Take the tick off the box "Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone too" and click "Done".
5. Your email will now be opened.If you have a lot of emails, it may take a few moments for them to load.
