What do i do if my Windows computer or a program freezes?

When the Windows operating system freezes

If only the web browser is stuck.

The best way to help in this situation is to restart your browser. Pressing the keyboard shortcut Alt and F4 together will close the program without pressing the X in the top corner or the Close function in the File menu.

If the browser is left wondering, a page or for some reason starts to throw the same window several times in a row. Just press the Esc button, it's a shortcut to stop the pages from going to the same page.

If the keyboard shortcuts do not help and you cannot close the browser, press the "Ctrl (ctrl) then Alt (alt) and then Del (Delete)" buttons together once and let go, then select Windows Task Manager from the list that appears, which allows you to manage your open applications and try to close the stuck application through this.

If both the web browser and other Windows functions are stuck

Try restarting and/or shutting down the computer using the start menu.

If the Start menu does not work or nothing happens, try turning off the computer by briefly pressing the power button and then restarting the computer after all the lights have gone out.

If a short press does not help, press the power button and wait until the computer "stops whirring" and all the lights go out (about 10 seconds), then restart.

Turning off the computer by frequently pressing and holding the power button is not recommended.

TIP! It is best to close your laptop in standby mode when you want to shut down the computer in normal operation. This also saves hard disk space and makes it quicker to reopen the computer. Please note, however, that regular reboots are necessary for the computer to function properly.

Windows often gets stuck

Check the amount of free space on the hard disk and that the case (laptop) is not bulging or otherwise damaged.

Check your computer for any potentially harmful software. You can download a free spyware scanner (e.g. Lavasoft Ad-Aware) for your home computer, but for AD networks you will need local support.
