How to get started with Teams

  1. Check that you have activated Microsoft 365 services for your OMA- service. For more information, see Activating Microsoft 365 services
  2. Next, it is highly recommended that you install the Teams desktop application, either by installing Teams from the Software Center on your computer or by downloading it from the Microsoft website. This is recommended so that web meetings run smoothly and you can keep the Teams application open all the time in the background while you are at work. You can also use Teams in a web browser if you prefer.
  3.  Log in to Teams using your JY ID in the form: username@jyu.fi. Note the format! Also for students, the format is @jyu.fi instead of @student.jyu.fi!

After entering your username, you will be automatically redirected to the University of Jyväskylä's login page.
