• For University employees, Nextcloud is automatically enabled and can be activated by checking the box on the Services tab in OMA - My Personal information panel:

• Grant researchers apply for Nextcloud in HelpJYU (Services and guidance > For Researchers > "Nextcloud for grant researchers"):

• Researchers who are not on a grant or university employees apply for Nextcloud in HelpJYU (Services and Advice> For Researchers> "Nextcloud for other non-employees"):

• Undergraduate students can get temporary Nextcloud rights if they are working in a university research project as a data collector or user, and their work on the data requires access to Nextcloud. The thesis supervisor or the project PI applies for the rights on the student's behalf in HelpJYU with the "Nextcloud for other non-employees" form (see above). 

 

Set-up steps:

1. Nextcloud is activated in the OMA – My Personal Information panel, from the "Services" tab (see above). For grant reseachers and other non-employees, the box can be found on the Services tab right after the HelpJYU application has been checked. Check the box then save. 

2. After activation in OMA, go to the Nextcloud login page in nextcloud.jyu.fi. When you start logging in for the first time, you are guided through the installation of the University's two-factor authentication application DUO application.
