SPSS must not be installed with a home-use license on devices belonging to other organizations and companies. It is intended only for devices owned by the staff and students of the University of Jyväskylä for academic work and studies in courses organized by JYU - not for commercial purposes.

For university-maintained computers

SPSS is installed from the Software Center (Win), Managed Software Center (Mac), or by requesting the installation of the program at help.jyu.fi (log in before filling out the form: Services and guidance > Software, Devices, Technical Support > Software | Installation of Paid Software).

To your home computer

Purchase a €30 home use license from the online store at https://webshop.jyu.fi/ and then download the installation files from the link below. The software is available for Windows and Mac (they have stated that it is not available for Linux).

First, read the file License.txt, where you will find the license code to activate the program and instructions on which installation file you should download.

Few people use SPSS Amos, so do not install Amos unless you know you need it.

After installing SPSS, the [Launch License Wizard] will be available.

Move from the License Status page to the next one by pressing [Next>] in the bottom right corner.

Choose (o) Authorized user license, [Next>]

Copy the license code corresponding to the version number from the License.txt file on the download page into the Enter Code: field,
then press [Add], [Next>], [Next>], [Finish], [Restart]
