To protect research material, MyJYU AI Transcription requires biometric authentication (facial recognition or fingerprint) to be enabled on your device. The exact process varies depending on whether your device runs Android or iOS, and whether it is a personal device or a university-provided work device.
On a personal device, biometric authentication can be enabled through the device settings:
Go to "Settings -> Security and privacy -> Biometrics".
From there, you can activate either fingerprint or face recognition.
If you are using a university-provided work device with separate profiles for "Personal" and "Work" apps, it is recommended to install MyJYU under the "Work" profile. Once MyJYU is installed under this profile, biometric authentication can be enabled through the device settings.
Go to "Settings -> Security and Privacy -> More security settings -> Work profile security".
Then select fingerprints or face recognition.
The authentication settings set this way for work profile are completely separate from the ones for your personal profile. If you prefer to use MyJYU through the personal profile, you can follow the instructions for enabling biometric authentication on a personal device. If you have trouble with biometric authentication, ensure that the app is installed in the profile where biometric authentication has been activated.
For both personal and work devices, biometric authentication (Face ID or Touch ID, depending on the device model) can be enabled through the device settings:
Go to "Settings -> Touch ID & Passcode" or Face ID & Passcode".
