Sending a secure email started by an external user

Secure email can also be used by people other than members of the University of Jyväskylä to send secure messages. External users can send emails from any address, but only to addresses in the @jyu.fi format!

Instructions for sending a secure email to the university

1. Open your browser and go to https://secure-mail.jyu.fi

2. In the "From" field of the window that opens, enter your email address (the image shows an example address)

3. You will see a registration notification in your browser. Click Register.

4. You will receive a new notification in your browser. Follow the instructions provided.

5. Once you receive an email from JYU Secure Mail (noreply@jyu.fi), open the message and click the link at the end of the message to write a secure message. See the image below for further instructions. Do not provide your phone number!
