In HelpJYU, there are several ways to search for guidance and this guide will go through the different ways of using guidance.
The guides can be found under the Help icon on the homepage. Clicking on the Help icon will take you to the front page of the help portal.
Some of the most common guides are pinned on the front page of the Guides-section. In addition, guides can be pinned to the sub-pages of the subject areas. The pinned guides can be used to make current guidelines easy to find, for example in the context of the universitys semester cycle. Guides pinned to the front page of the guides or to the subject area pages can be found at the top of each page:
HelpJYU provides targeted service request forms, which you can request the service needed. The service request forms are listed according to the search results under the pinned guides to the front page of the Guides:
The guides are grouped by topic, so that, for example, all the most useful guides for students are in one place. All technical guides (software, hardware and systems) are also centrally located in one category:
Software, devices, technical support.
Article categories can be browsed from the left side bar.
Guides can also be searched using the "Search" field on the front page of the Guides.
Search can also targeted by filtering the search results only for certain topics or time periods:
Another way to use the search can be found in the blue top bar of the portal (How can we help?). The search will retrieve all the guides and forms available on the portal. You can try several conjugations of a word or words to find the right search results. The search will also list service request forms matching the search terms. Service request forms and guides can be identified in the search result by different icon. Guides can be identified from the 'file' icon:
By typing in a search word or words and waiting a moment, the most relevant search results will be listed below search field:
NOTE! If entering a search term and pressing the 'Enter' key, you will be directed to the Guides homepage, where guides matching the search term will be listed. When opening the gudie to read it, you will see at the top of the guide whether it is the latest version of the guide or whether there is a newer version. If you want to save the link to the guide or link to it for others, click on the "Copy permanent link" link so that the link you save will always redirect to the latest version of the guide.
On the right-hand side of the open guide, can be found more guides related to the topic based on keywords:
Search works on the Help with IT problem- and fe other service request forms. The search looks for guides based on the words entered in the forms title field, that can help the customer to solve the problem themselves, without submitting a form:
