Group Choice in Moodle for students


If students have already registered for the course area, the teacher can create a Group Choice activity, allowing students to conveniently select which small group they want to join. Note Using this activity requires that groups have already been created for the course.

1.Creating a Group choice for students

You can create a Group choice activity as follows:

3. In the Group choice settings, you can first name and describe the activity.

4. Then, specify whether students can enroll in more than one group and how the selections are displayed to students.

5. Once the settings have been defined, select the groups or grouping you want to be available for students to choose from under Groups. You can select a group by clicking on the group and then clicking the Add group button between the Available groups and Selected groups windows.

6. Once you have defined all the settings, remember to click Save and return to the course or Save and display.

7. The Group choice activity is now ready to use. As a teacher, you can view and edit the Group choice activity you have created by clicking on it and viewing its various tabs. 

8. Go to the Show X responses tab to see the students' selections and download the data if necessary.
